Yiddish Expressions 2.10

Master the Yiddish language with
"Yiddish In 10 Lessons"

Express It In Yiddish
a waste of time, a waste of money, fool's errand, lost cause, wild goose chase
אל תבזבז את הזמן, חבל על הכסף

ס'איז אַן עבירה די צײַט, אַן עבירה דאָס געלט

s'iz an avey're di tseyt, an avey're dos gelt

it's a sin the time, a sin the money

זה עבירה הזמן, עבירה הכסף

Yiddish is rich with expressions. In fact, sometimes the same phrase can be said in a number of different ways. I try to bring the unique ones, where it is is not obvious from the literal translation what the expression means.
